Examples of the Prophetic Song

We have all been blessed by the timely and anointed use of the prophetic, God-breathed song. Please share an example with us of a song that has impacted your life personally.

One of my favorite worship leaders is Kari Jobe and her song, The More I Seek You, is not a 'spontaneous' song but it is surely prophetic because it reveals something of our Lord that inspires faith.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is the study of the prophetic song as found in the Old and New Testaments. Participants in this course will study:

1. An overview of the key Hebrew and Greek words for "song."

2. The importance of singing in the Bible and the place of the prophetic song throughout the Word.

3. Different themes of the prophetic song found in Scripture.

4. Some key principles in training and releasing the prophetic song in their own lives and in the lives of others.

5. The theology of the prophetic song.

OBJECTIVES:

1. To enhance the devotional lives of students.

2. To build upon the previous course where students learned about Psalms, Chant, Hymns, Gospel Songs, Scripture Songs, and Worship Choruses.

3. To develop the tools necessary to teach prophetic singing to others.

4. To reflect on and give critical evaluation of prophetic songs.

5. To analyze the functional differences between Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs.
